Important Messages: COVID-19 Impact on Test Centers

COVID-19 Impact on Certification

NOTE: Kryterion Online Voice Support Unavailable. Please use the chat feature or submit a webform question at Online Proctoring Support during this time.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of test centers across the globe have temporarily closed. Please review the information below to learn how these factors have impacted certification:

The real time list of closed test centers can be found here: Kryterion Test Center Closures.

Candidates who are currently scheduled at a test center may be rescheduled to a future date at a placeholder test center. Candidates may reschedule their exam by logging into their user account.

Online proctored exam appointments are widely available. Find out more about taking the exam online here.

Candidates who would like to switch to the online exam should cancel their in-person exam for a full refund and purchase an online exam by logging into their user account. Please review the No Shows and Cancellation Policy before cancelling an exam.

Refunds will not be issued to candidates who fail to reschedule or cancel in time and do not show up to their examination per the No Shows and Cancellation Policy.

HUD published an Interim Final Rule on the Federal Register website to announce a delay in the deadline for housing counselors to become HUD certified. The new final compliance date is August 1, 2021. The pause is meant to ensure that vital housing counseling services remain available to the nation’s homebuyers and renters, particularly those who need housing and mortgage assistance to recover financially from the effects of the COVID-19 National emergency. Read the Interim Final Rule in its entirety on the Federal Register website.

Please submit an issue at or contact Kryterion Support if you have any COVID-19 related rescheduling questions; or if there are fewer than 72 hours before your exam appointment and you would like to reschedule due to social distancing or self-quarantine measures.
