Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of test centers across the globe have temporarily closed in order to slow the spread of the virus. Please review the information below to learn how COVID-19 has impacted certification:
Candidates who are currently scheduled at a test center may be rescheduled to a future date when test centers are predicted to be open. Candidates may reschedule their exam to a more convenient date by logging into their HUDHousingCounselors.com user account.
Online proctored exam appointments are widely available, although candidates have reported extended shipping times when purchasing external webcams online. Find out more about taking the exam online here.
Candidates who would like to switch to the online exam should cancel their in-person exam for a full refund and purchase an online exam by logging into their HUDHousingCounselors.com user account. Please review the No Shows and Cancellation Policy before cancelling an exam.
Refunds will not be issued to candidates who fail to reschedule or cancel in time and do not show up to their examination per the No Shows and Cancellation Policy.
HUD has not issued a statement regarding an extension to the compliance deadline due to COVID-19. Updates regarding the certification rule and compliance deadline are distributed via the HUD Office of Housing Counseling Listserv and can be found on the HUD Exchange. You can find instructions for joining the Listserv here.
Please submit an issue at HUDHousingCounselors.com/Support or contact Kryterion Support if you have any COVID-19 related rescheduling questions; or if there are fewer than 72 hours before your exam appointment and you would like to reschedule due to social distancing or self-quarantine measures.
